My thoughts

Initially, I found the book a little tough to get into. It started off slowly and it felt as if it was going to be a series of short stories involving characters with no relation, but I’m glad that I stuck with the book.

The author has linked the characters in such a creepy way. The ties they share are small and seem insignificant. Once their links are revealed later in the story. I later realised that I was fed breadcrumbs during the story and brushed off the less obvious hints.

This book does a fantastic job of showing how people can commit acts of sin. Whether it is intentional, or not. The character development in this book is superb. Characters who seem unlikeable, to begin with, realise that their previous behaviour leads them down the path they are on. There was a point in the story where I felt genuine concern for the well-being of a character.

Who would I recommend this book to?

7 Sins is a short read, and one you won’t want to put down. It mixes horror and thriller elements effectively. I feel that it’d be a perfect addition to the collection of anyone seeking a short page turner with these elements.
