I’ve done a few of these before, but I’ve always grown to hate them.
2020 has been a year of growth for me, more than any other year has been.
So this felt like the perfect opportunity to do a better “about me” post than before!
This is me!
This post will also be quite long, so thank you for reading!
Starting with the obvious, I am from Swansea in South Wales, and I am 29 years old at the time of this post!
I have lived with various mental health disorders throughout my adult life. Depression, PTSD and anxiety being the most prevalent disorders.
I also have a rare vision disorder called Keratoconus. The image below sums it up better than I can!
My favourite genre of gaming is open-world. I love the ability to roam about an open world and then be able to complete the games actual objectives at my lesiure.
Video games have helped my mental health in spades, games such as Skyrim have saved me countless times.
Sonic the Hedgehog is my overall favourite character and franchise. I have a very strong emotional connection to him, the character reminds me of better times in my life, I also admire his can do attitude.
I am the parent of two guinea pigs. Their names are Rob and Danny.
They are both over a year old at the time of this post.
Rob is older and named after Rob Zombie, Danny got his name from Danny DeVito.
They are my first pets outside of the usual family pets.
They mean a lot to me and have helped me so much. I do need to learn to stick to their routines better.
They are well-loved and cared for, though.
I tend to have a lot of “darker” interests. I am very interested in true crime, the occult and things along those lines.
My interest in these subjects are innocent, I find the thought processes involved fascinating.
I often listen to true crime podcasts whilst I’m doing errands, playing video games and writing.
Horror movies are my favourite types of movies. I enjoy the cinematography, practical effects and CGI effects that often go into the production of movies within the genre.
I also have an interest in spirituality, but I don’t know where my beliefs lie.
I like crystals, meditation, zen life and I believe that there is more to life than we see on the surface. We can change our reality by simply changing our reactions to things.
I don’t follow a particular belief/religion. I like aspects of them and I have read up a few different religions in my time.
I guess the majority of my beliefs could fall into zen, or even new age. I’m okay with this, I’m happy to work things out as I go.
I am also a big fan of the works of Disney. I love Mickey Mouse, I even have a tattoo on my wrist. I’m also looking into adding an Oscar the Rabbit tattoo, post pandemic.
I prefer the older works of Walt himself, and my overall favourite Disney movie is either Aladdin or The Lion King. This opinion changes often.
Although I’m grateful that Disney has multiple franchises under its name now that people enjoy, I don’t think Walt himself would be happy with the direction that Disney has taken.
I am always seeking ways to better myself and I always find myself looking up new subjects to do this. I also study topics to see the viewpoints of others, this has taken some mental work, though. I can be very set in my ways.
I haven’t been the best person in my life so far. I have been toxic, nasty and outright unpleasant in the past. I can’t change what has happened, but I can work on the present.
I have read the words of Sigmund Freud, Carl Jung, Friedrich Nietzsche, Socrates, Karl Marx, Charles Darwin and many more. I believe expanding your mind is one of the best things you can do for yourself.
I am me. I am unapologetically me.
Thank you for your time, I appreciate you being here!
