Pokémon Go: Thoughts on the “Colossal Discovery” event

Yesterday was the Colossal Discovery event on Pokémon Go. This was a pay to play event, costing myself and my partner £7.99 a piece, we play the game enough to justify it, though. Plus, going out to play Pokémon Go is one of our favourite things to do together. 💕

Pokemon Go Community Day 2019: A Disappointing Day

Image may contain: 1 person, text and close-up

I couldn’t think of a way to start this entry, so I am glad that a friend sent me this image. The day was an absolute disaster. My boyfriend and I attempted to play for a while, he got two shinies, I didn’t get any. Then all of a sudden, the event just seemed to stop.

We walked around for about an hour and barely saw any Slakoth, I used two insense, and he used a lure module on a local Pokéstop, still nothing. I decided to check Twitter and noticed that other people were having the same issue.

The weather feature in the game had stopped working, and this affected all the spawns within the game, including the spawns for the Pokémon associated with the Adventure Week event going on at the time and of course, the spawns for the community day.

Seeing this pop up in my notifications felt like salt in the wounds, I wouldn’t usually care about wasting in-game items, but I’d purchased them with my last in-game coins, I feel like I lost money.

At least Niantic has an upcoming remedy to the situation, they posted this tweet, so I am eagerly awaiting a chance to get me one of that adorable shiny Pokémon! I’m hoping to be away during this event, I love the chance to explore new places with my boyfriend.

Belated April Community Day Post: Pokémon Go

This is a super late entry, I know there’s another community day not too far around the corner, I just had some issues when it comes to my mental health, so I put this off for a long time. Also, it wasn’t all that successful, in all honesty.

Instead of going into the city like I usually do, lack of funds pretty much relegated me to the local park. Which was fine, just felt pretty confined with obviously fewer stops.
I always have better luck in the city.

It was a bad day for me, so I didn’t really enjoy it as much. I got one shiny Bagon, after many failed shiny checks. My boyfriend did end up trading one to me, then I did wind up catching my own.

This wasn’t one to remember, but the Bagon, my boyfriend, traded to me, has wound up being the Pokémon in my group with the highest CP.
Which was nice.

My boyfriend and I are taking a trip soon, we’ll be partaking in the next community day there.
Pictured below are my catches for that day.

Until the next community day, happy exploring, trainers!

Pokémon Go: Raid Battles & Looking Forward to the Community Day

I have been spending a lot of time on Pokémon Go again as of late. It’s so much fun and has done wonders for my fitness levels, as well as my mental health issues.
Pokémon has been one of my favourite franchises for the longest time, I love the designs and games.
The anime is pretty good, too, but it’s not something I watch consistently.

When my boyfriend came into my life, I had a consistent person to play with. We both struggle with mental health issues, and this game has been an absolute godsend.

We joined a group of local players for raids and I acquired quite the impressive haul! I took a series of screenshots of my favourite pictured below.

It’s really handy joining group in your local area, there’ll usually be enough people around to get the higher level raids done with.
You also get extra Pokéballs if your team does the most damage, your team holds a gym and if you’re raiding with a person you have a high friendship level within the game.

I’ve also got a new phone that supports the AR+ feature, so naturally, the first thing I did was an impromptu photoshoot with two Pokémon that’d fit in my tiny bathroom.

The time this post is published, it’ll be the Treeko community day! My boyfriend and I will be going to the city centre for a nice day out shopping, grabbing food and playing Pokémon Go.
I’m hoping there’ll be other players out and about too so we can join in any higher level raids.
If it’s successful and I’m not salty at all, I’ll do a follow-up post.
I’m really excited about the day, I always enjoy spending time outside of the house.
