Initially, I had planned to watch and talk about the original movie, but I saw this movie was on Amazon Prime’s streaming service, so I gave it a watch instead.
There will be spoilers in this post.

The movie begins with Sam Lawton, and his co-workers, on their way to a company business retreat. As the bus crosses the North Bay Bridge, Sam has a premonition.
In this premonition, the bridge collapses and kills everyone, apart from Molly, Sam helped her cross the bridge safely. After Sam awakens from his premonition, he convinces his friends and Mollie to leave the coach before the bridge collapses.

While this isn’t the best movie in the series, it is a vast improvement from the movie before it. The movie strayed away from the cheesy aspects of The Final Destination, and returned to the darker, more serious tone that the original movie had.
While these characters are weak, with little character development, they weren’t just written to be kill fodder. They feel believable and almost likable.

From this point on, we’re entering spoiler territory. If you haven’t seen this movie, don’t read on.
The lead up to the first death in the movie, Candace, was intense. You can spot many risks leading up to it. At one point, a loose screw falls upright onto the balance beam that she is performing on. You keep expecting her to jump onto it, but she doesn’t.
Her death was worth the buildup that surrounded it. She ended up losing control, flipping midair, then landing in a way that snapped her spine. It isn’t overly gory, but it’s something that’ll more than likely make you flinch seeing it for the first time.

For me, the best part of this movie was the ending. It had been a prequel, which I didn’t notice at first!
There are clues scattered throughout the movie hinting at this, but they can often be overlooked when you’re watching this movie for the first time.
For me, it was such a cruel surprised seeing molly and Sam go through so much in the movie, opt to start a new life together, only to realise that there’s nothing they can do now.
Death has claimed them.
