Aggravating Video Game Enemies #2

Have you ever been enjoying your favourite game, only to have your fun time ruined by that enemy encounter?

They’re not always difficult, but they always know how to push to buttons!

Today’s post is part two of aggravating video game enemies. Click here for part one!

Creepers – Minecraft

Creepers are one of my favourite mobs in Minecraft, but this doesn’t make them any less irritating in gameplay.

I have lost count of how many times one has snuck up on me, I’ve heard the dreaded hiss sound effect, and watched as the green terror has destroyed what I’ve been working on.

Lurker – Destiny 2

My relationship with Destiny 2, in general, is love/hate. I am drawn to the world, the gameplay, and the lore, but it can infuriate me to no end.

Lurker’s carry a shield with them, and they feel impenetrable. They are “lower” Scorn enemies, but they can rival tougher ranked enemies with their shield hit box.

Their legs are left exposed when their shield is extended, but Bungie seem to have forgotten that when programming their shields hit box.

Kaboom – Donkey Kong Country 2

I’d say these guys are more of an inconvenience than an actual threat in the game. Just jump on one when it charges towards you, it’ll go back in its barrel, and then you can throw the barrel away.

What makes them irritating for me, is the damage they can do if you mistime their attacks. They will detonate and instantly knock your Kong off-screen. You can only take two hits in these games, so losing one to something as silly as this, makes me mad.

  1. Ooh what a good idea for a gaming topic! It’s hard to keep track of all the video game enemies that exasperate me, I hated the Despair Demon in Dragon Age Inquisition for always leaping away from me and having powerful ice spells. Then there was the Collossal Ruin in Alice Madness Returns for trying to eat me, I actually hate any video game enemies that can grab/devour you, oh and the ogres in Dragon Age as well.
