Let’s Talk Mental Health, 2022 & Moving Forward!

It’s been a little while since I posted content here, hasn’t it? I had been feeling quite out of sorts, but naively decided to ignore the signs that my mental health and wellbeing were flagging, and just carried on with life as normal. Of course, this inevitably caught up with me, leading to a nervous breakdown.

During that period, I had contemplated giving up on writing for good. I couldn’t stop crying, and it was triggering symptoms from my other disorders, so you can imagine how frantic and manic my thoughts had become.

I’m in a better place now and I’ve got my sights set on 2022. In today’s post, I’ll be talking about what I’ve got planned for the coming year, and plans for the journey of self-development that I am on.

Implementing Healthier Habits & Routines

I’ve made progress on this as of late, but I’m hoping to find more balance regarding prioritising things in my life. One of the most troublesome Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) symptoms that I contend with is a lack of a “grey area”. I’m either 100% invested in something, or not at all. This impacts every aspect of my life. I have found using an app called Finch and another app called Dreamfora have been beneficial in sticking to the habits and goals I have set.

Expanding My Mental Health Content

I believe I have entertained this idea before, but I was too anxious to go forward with the ideas I have. This is dependent on other people, but I am hoping to get the perspective of the mental health journeys other people are on.

I will also be trying various apps that support mental health, promote improvement, and take advice from various sources to see if they help me personally.

Improving My Review/Opinion Content

As much as I enjoy sharing my thoughts on the subjects of movies and video games, I’m not always content with how the posts on the subjects turn out. I’m not pushing myself to produce expert-level reviews. I am not a journalist, but I feel there is space for improvement in this area. The good thing about this is that there is a plethora of content to learn from online; some of it is even free!

I’ll still produce this content, but I will be experimenting with different writing styles for them.

General Improvements For Life Told By Stacey

I bought an url for the blog from GoDaddy last year, and I’ve renewed it since. I had no idea how to use that as the main url, and not the current WordPress url. I’ve worked out how to direct the url to the blog, so that was a start!

Over 2022, I’m going to be working on getting the url to work, upgrading my wordpress plan, and making the blog a little more pleasing on an aesthetic level. While I’m not unhappy with how it looks right now, I feel like it could use a makeover and other features I’ve seen on other blogs. I will be working on this behind the scenes.
