I Played Pikuniku!

Pikuniku is a puzzle adventure game developed by Sectordub and published by Devolver Digital. It is available to play on the following systems:

  • Xbox One.
  • Nintendo Switch.
  • Mac OS.
  • Linux.
  • Microsoft Windows.

I played the Xbox One version via the GamePass for this review.

I was drawn to this game by its art-style. I had no idea what type of game I was getting into. I am glad I took the opportunity to experience this title. It’s become one of my favourite puzzle games!

Pikuniku is a game full of charm. From the art style, down to the dialogue. There’s never a dull moment between solving puzzles.

The games plot is simple. You play as Piku, a good natured creature who will help anyone who needs it. On more than one occasion, I found myself smiling at the quirky dialogue the NPCs had.

The gameplay added to my overall enjoyment of the game. It’s simple and easy to pick up. The puzzles are the perfect difficulty too. The game doesn’t hold your hand, but the puzzles are simple enough and won’t leave you frustrated trying to solve them.

The games boss encounters are also simple and fun. I never had a tough time with them. Any time I lost to them, it was my own fault.

My only complaint about the game was its length. I feel as if I could’ve completed it in one sitting, if I wasn’t playing other games at the same time.

Pikuniku is a game I feel people should experience at least once. It’s an absolute joy to play!

Have you played Pikuniku?
