Ah, the backlog. The gamer’s most common enemy, after lag at least!
At one point, I had a stack of games that was almost the same height as me, I’m only 5’3 so I don’t know that’s as impressive as I’m making it out to be!

I don’t believe I own as many games as I did back then, but I still have a backlog!
In today’s piece, I’ll be gushing over my collection!
#LoveYourBacklog was created by Later Levels and Ace Asunder!

Beep beep!

The effect that the 2020 apocalypse had on your backlog

I didn’t purchase as many games as I usually would. I did pick up a few games from various sales, and I may have started a few on the gamepass, but I believe some titles I added made games pile up a little.

I played a substantial amount of Warzone and World War Z with Ben via cross-play, I also got back into Destiny 2, as well as falling back into my comfort games. My comfort games are Skyrim and Minecraft, I can clock hours in those games, so you can imagine how many games go unplayed if I’m invested.

I lost track of my gaming goals, but I finished more games than I usually would.

I beat Sonic Forces & I’m still on the fence about a platinum trophy run!

The oldest game in terms of release date

I bought the original version of Final Fantasy 7 when it was ported to the PS4 pre remake, so it’s either that, Modern Warfare 2, also on PS4.
If we’re talking about the actual release dates, it’s probably The Witcher 3. I can already hear the shouting, I will get to it!

I’ll get to them!

A game you bought on day one, only to not play it

I don’t buy games day one unless I’m going to play it. Although, Ben did buy me Catherine: Full Body the year it came out, it’s been sat there a while… I’ll get to it!

Resident Evil 3 hitting home

The game which has spent the most time on your backlog

The Witcher 3, and like I said, I’ll get to it!
Put down those pitchforks!

The most recent addition to your library

I’m not really sure off the top of my head, it was a game from the PlayStation Plus line-up, though.
The games I remember purchasing last were Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition, Pay Day 2 and Ben bought some DLC for Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII, he plays that on my PS4.

“It’s Arrested Development”

The person responsible for adding the most entries to your backlog, due to their good recommendations

I tend to buy games on impulse, so I don’t tend to go on the recommendation of others.
However, I did read some other entries in the hashtag in general and might’ve picked some ideas up from them…
So I’ll link them below!

  1. Last year was not an apocalypse, no demons popped outta the ground like daisies and the Four Horsemen didn’t come. That is what an apocalypse is.

Dang I wrote my post a year ago, didn’t expect it to still get attention.

    1. Demons popping out of the ground would’ve been far more entertaining. 😂

It popped up when I googled the hashtag for posts to share, I enjoyed reading. 😊

      1. Hahaha yeah I tend to get too literal with the apocalypse thing since I’ve played a lot of Darksiders and other games focusing on it! Or how about Cthulhu rising?

        Thanks I’m glad you did.
